Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality (Rolpa) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality (Rolpa district), candidate Ganendra Gharti of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 4,155 (46.86%) votes out of total votes of 8,867 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Sher Bahadur Mahara of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,060 (23.50%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,652 (9.32) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Bagmati Chetrini of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 4,153 (47.01%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kabita Upadhyay of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,992 (23.04%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,689 (9.56) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 165 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 102 (61.82%) males and 63 (38.18%) females. Moreover, there were total 34 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 64 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 30 females and 27 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
