Sex, Dependency & Women-Child Ratio Chart of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Lalitpur District (2011 Census)

The pie-charts for male-female population, child and elderly dependency, and women-child ratios of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Lalitpur District is based on 2011 population census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Nepal. As of 2011, Lalitpur Metropolitan City had total population of 284,922 with male 145,924 (51.22%) and female 138,998 (48.78%). Total independent population (male and female between 15 to 65 years of age) were 206,525 (72.48%) while dependent children (below 15 years of age) were 63,244 (22.20%) and elderls (65 years and above) were 15,153 (5.32%). As illustrated in the Chart, total dependent population includes both the children and elderly people who were 78,397 (27.52%). With respect to women and children ratio, total women between age of 15 to 49 years (statistically considered as women of child bearing age) were total 87,546 while children below 5 years of age were 17,135, which is equivalent to 196 children per 1,000 women. This women-child ratio is also considered as fertility ratio when specific fertility related data is not available.
