Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality (Nuwakot) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality (Nuwakot district), candidate Ramesh Bahadur Osti of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,614 (47.36%) votes out of total votes of 7,631 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Chok Raj Shakya of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,688 (23.90%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,329 (8.71) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Tara Devi Rimal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,527 (46.46%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Sun Maya Tamang of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,805 (25.23%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,260 (8.30) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 106 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 65 (61.32%) males and 41 (38.68%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 40 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 14 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
