Sukhipur is a Municipality, which is located in Siraha district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Sukhipur has total 10 wards, which are scattered across 55 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Sukhipur Municipality had total population of 37,592.

As of 2011, 2,350 population in Sukhipur Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 6.25 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 2,321, which equals to 12.98 percent of total 17,880 males. Same as, 29 females were absent, which equals to 0.15 percent of 19,003 females. At least one member of 1,925 (28.59 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Sukhipur Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 5,058. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 5 and 9 with total 2,597 while female population falls between 10 and 14 with total 2,505 population. The least populated age group was above 75 with total 430 population, which consistes of 220 males and 210 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were between 5 and 9 (5,058), between 10 and 14 (5,016), below 4 (3,911), between 15 and 19 (3,322), between 20 and 24 (2,732) with total population of 20,039. In contrast, bottom 5 least populated age groups were above 75 (430), between 70 and 74 (619), between 65 and 69 (868), between 60 and 64 (1,181), and between 55 and 59 (1,341) with total population of 4,439. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 5 and 9 (2,597), between 10 and 14 (2,511), below 4 (1,953), between 15 and 19 (1,730), and between 20 and 24 (1,190), with total population of 9,981. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (220), between 70 and 74 (304), between 65 and 69 (464),between 60 and 64 (608), and between 55 and 59 (686), with total population of 2,282. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (2,505), between 5 and 9 (2,461), below 4 (1,958), between 15 and 19 (1,592), and between 20 and 24 (1,542), with total population of 10,058. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (210), between 70 and 74 (315), between 65 and 69 (404),between 60 and 64 (573), and between 55 and 59 (655), with total population of 2,157.

The population with age-group 65 to 69 had male to female ratio of 1.15, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.66. The age-groups 65 to 69, 15 to 19, 5 to 9, 60 to 64, 55 to 59, above 75, 50 to 54 had majority of male population while age-groups 45 to 49, 70 to 74, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups below 4, 10 to 14 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 55.81 % (20,981 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 37.20 % with total number of 13,985. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.10 % with total number of 1,917. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 42.30 with total number of 15,902

There were 9,202 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 3,911. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 425 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 11,212 in Sukhipur Municipality with 5,471 (48.80%) of males and 5,741 (51.20%) females. There were total 38 schools. In average, 295 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Sukhipur Municipality are Yadav (10,885), Koiri/Kushwaha (3,120), Chamar/Harijan/Ram (2,613), Teli (2,272) and Muslim (1,932) with total population of 20,822, which forms 55.39 percent out of total population of 37,592 in Sukhipur Municipality.

Out of total population of 36,883, there were total 476 (1.29%) disabled persons in Sukhipur Municipality with 256 (53.78%) males and 220 (46.22%) females. The physically disabled persons were 166, while mentally disabled people were 36 and intellectually disabled were 15.

Similarly, there were 60 people who were blind and 53 people were deaf, while 10 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 59 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 77 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 6734 households in Sukhipur Municipality, there were 148 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,306 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 116 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 5,091houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 141 houses were mud bonded, 1,377 houses were cement bonded, 25 houses were wood planks bonded, 5,134 houses were bamboo bonded and 6 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2,812 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 191 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,035 houses had roof of tile, 625 houses had RCC roofs, 20 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 6,018 out of 6,734 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 416 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 272 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Sukhipur Municipality, there were total 18 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 6,544 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 11 houses had covered well while 82 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (1) and river stream (1), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 786 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 61 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 120 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (5,686), bio-gas (9), fuel electricity (2), etc.

Same as, total 3,321 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,307, while 69 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.49.

out of 6,734 households in Sukhipur Municipality, 1,601 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,994 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 3,821, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 3,384.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 732 establishments in Sukhipur Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,815 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,893 and female engagement of 922 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.85 people engaged with average males are 2.59 and females are 1.26. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.05, which means as many as 2.05 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
