Simraungadh Municipality (Bara) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Simraungadh Municipality (Bara district), candidate Bijaya Shankar Yadav of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,135 (30.09%) votes out of total votes of 17,066 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Kishori Prasad Kalwar of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) who secured 5,115 (23.04%) of votes. The rest of 12 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 6,816 (19.97) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Rima Devi of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 5,514 (34.75%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Rita Kumari Devi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,917 (18.32%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 6,437 (20.28) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 377 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 228 (60.48%) males and 149 (39.52%) females. Moreover, there were total 86 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 136 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 69 females and 63 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
