Ramgram is a Municipality, which is located in Nawalparasi_W district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Ramgram has total 18 wards, which are scattered across 128 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramgram Municipality had total population of 59,455.

As of 2011, 2,932 population in Ramgram Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 4.93 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 2,765, which equals to 9.93 percent of total 27,852 males. Same as, 167 females were absent, which equals to 0.58 percent of 28,993 females. At least one member of 2,390 (23.24 percent) households were absent.

As illustrated in the charts, the ratio of absentee population was 19.28, while male to female absentee population ratio was 16.56. Same as, the household ratio of present vs. absent population was 3.30.

In terms of age, the largest population in Ramgram Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 7,387. Gender wise, there were 3,688 males and 3,699 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was above 75 with total 775 population, which consistes of 365 males and 410 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were between 10 and 14 (7,387), between 5 and 9 (6,602), between 15 and 19 (6,544), between 20 and 24 (5,083), below 4 (4,981) with total population of 30,597. In contrast, bottom 5 least populated age groups were above 75 (775), between 70 and 74 (848), between 65 and 69 (1,221), between 60 and 64 (1,644), and between 55 and 59 (1,801) with total population of 6,289. The median age-group of total population falls between 35 and 39 and between 40 and 44 with average population of 3,337.

Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (3,688), between 5 and 9 (3,432), between 15 and 19 (3,320), below 4 (2,551), and between 20 and 24 (2,298), with total population of 15,289. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (365), between 70 and 74 (417), between 65 and 69 (672),between 60 and 64 (845), and between 55 and 59 (935), with total population of 3,234. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (3,699), between 15 and 19 (3,224), between 5 and 9 (3,170), between 20 and 24 (2,785), and between 25 and 29 (2,695), with total population of 15,573. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (410), between 70 and 74 (431), between 65 and 69 (549),between 60 and 64 (799), and between 55 and 59 (866), with total population of 3,055.

The population with age-group 65 to 69 had male to female ratio of 1.22, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.74. The age-groups 65 to 69, 50 to 54, 5 to 9, 55 to 59, 45 to 49, 60 to 64, below 4, 15 to 19, 40 to 44 had majority of male population while age-groups 70 to 74, above 75, 35 to 39, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 10 to 14 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 58.92 % (35,031 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 31.91 % with total number of 18,970. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.78 % with total number of 2,844. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 36.69 with total number of 21,814

There were 15,610 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 4,981. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 319 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 16,105 in Ramgram Municipality with 7,999 (49.67%) of males and 8,106 (50.33%) females. There were total 61 schools. In average, 264 students were studying in each school.

Out of total population, 22,335 female speaks Bhojpuri language, while 21,511 male speaks Bhojpuri language.Details information about languages spoken by male and female groups of population has been illustrated in the table.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramgram Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tharu caste with total population of 12,669. There were as little as Rajdhob caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Ramgram are Yadav, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Kewat, Muslim, Brahmin - Hill, Teli, Kahar, Dhobi, Kathbaniyan, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, Chhetri, Kurmi, Magar, Kami, Koiri/Kushwaha, Hajam/Thakur, Terai Others, Rajbhar, Haluwai, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Newar, Mallaha, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Kalwar, Kumhar, Tamang, Lohar, Badhaee, Musahar, Brahmin - Tarai, Gurung, Khawas, Satar/Santhal, Dhandi, Dhankar/Kharikar, Baraee, Rajput, Kayastha, Marwadi, Pattharkatta/Kushwadiya, Sarki, Natuwa, Kumal, Dhunia, Yakkha, Sonar, Mali, Gaderi/Bhedhar, Rai, Bangali, Nuniya, Dom, Darai, Lodh, Sunuwar, Gharti/Bhujel, Limbu, Gangai, Kanu, Majhi, Kamar, Badi, Rajdhob, Sudhi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Ramgram Municipality are Tharu (12,669), Yadav (6,013), Chamar/Harijan/Ram (4,836), Kewat (4,248) and Muslim (3,407) with total population of 31,173, which forms 52.43 percent out of total population of 59,455 in Ramgram Municipality.

Out of total population of 56,845, there were total 664 (1.17%) disabled persons in Ramgram Municipality with 394 (59.34%) males and 270 (40.66%) females. The physically disabled persons were 278, while mentally disabled people were 62 and intellectually disabled were 19.

Similarly, there were 102 people who were blind and 63 people were deaf, while 8 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 104 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 28 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 10282 households in Ramgram Municipality, there were 2,279 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 4,638 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 590 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2,282houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,170 houses were mud bonded, 5,285 houses were cement bonded, 78 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,973 houses were bamboo bonded and 63 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,000 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 651 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,320 houses had roof of tile, 5,076 houses had RCC roofs, 57 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 7,585 out of 10,282 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,284 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 345 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Ramgram Municipality, there were total 1,772 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 8,299 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 55 houses had covered well while 44 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (5) and river stream (4), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 6,445 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 69 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 1,450 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1,958), bio-gas (209), fuel electricity (3), etc.

Same as, total 8,563 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,593, while 27 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.83.

out of 10,282 households in Ramgram Municipality, 424 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 9,698 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 8,671, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 7,856.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 2,462 establishments in Ramgram Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 8,105 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 6,129 and female engagement of 1,976 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.29 people engaged with average males are 2.49 and females are 0.80. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 3.10, which means as many as 3.10 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
