Neelakantha is a Municipality, which is located in Dhading district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Neelakantha has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 198 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Neelakantha Municipality had total population of 58,515.

As of 2011, 5,005 population in Neelakantha Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 8.55 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 4,593, which equals to 17.33 percent of total 26,510 males. Same as, 412 females were absent, which equals to 1.29 percent of 32,005 females. At least one member of 3,911 (27.97 percent) households were absent.

The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.08, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.50. The age-groups 70 to 74, below 4, 65 to 69, 5 to 9, 10 to 14 had majority of male population while age-groups 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 45 to 49, 60 to 64, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 25 to 29, 20 to 24 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups above 75 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 7.40 % with total number of 4,333. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 42.39 with total number of 24,804

There were 16,621 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 5,126. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 308 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,151 in Neelakantha Municipality with 1,496 (47.48%) of males and 1,655 (52.52%) females. There were total 104 schools. In average, 30 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Neelakantha Municipality are Newar (10,286), Brahmin - Hill (9,606), Gurung (9,595), Chhetri (6,996) and Magar (6,178) with total population of 42,661, which forms 72.91 percent out of total population of 58,515 in Neelakantha Municipality.

Out of total population of 58,515, there were total 1,117 (1.91%) disabled persons in Neelakantha Municipality with 582 (52.10%) males and 535 (47.90%) females. The physically disabled persons were 339, while mentally disabled people were 65 and intellectually disabled were 72.

Similarly, there were 258 people who were blind and 158 people were deaf, while 21 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 120 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 84 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 13984 households in Neelakantha Municipality, there were 10,628 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,065 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 2,151 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 51houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 10,401 houses were mud bonded, 3,387 houses were cement bonded, 56 houses were wood planks bonded, 40 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 260 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 3,943 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 6,924 houses had roof of tile, 2,739 houses had RCC roofs, 8 houses had roof of woods while 2 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 2,283 out of 13,984 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 8,649 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 3,015 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Neelakantha Municipality, there were total 12,314 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 4 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 175 houses had covered well while 350 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (1053) and river stream (52), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 9,751 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 195 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 3,387 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (579), fuel electricity (6), etc.

Same as, total 10,922 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 2,014, while 807 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.78.

out of 13,984 households in Neelakantha Municipality, 1,216 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 12,442 households reported of using at least one facility. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 2,382 establishments in Neelakantha Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 8,212 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 4,653 and female engagement of 3,559 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.45 people engaged with average males are 1.95 and females are 1.49. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.31, which means as many as 1.31 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
