Naukunda is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Rasuwa district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Naukunda has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 127 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Naukunda Rural Municipality had total population of 11,824.

As of 2011, 1,038 population in Naukunda Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 8.78 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 711, which equals to 12.32 percent of total 5,773 males. Same as, 327 females were absent, which equals to 5.40 percent of 6,051 females. At least one member of 773 (31.13 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Naukunda Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 1,760. Gender wise, there were 870 males and 890 females of the same age group. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (870), between 5 and 9 (743), below 4 (615), between 15 and 19 (604), and between 20 and 24 (321), with total population of 3,153. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 65 and 69 (136), between 70 and 74 (143), above 75 (175),between 55 and 59 (208), and between 60 and 64 (231), with total population of 893. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (890), between 5 and 9 (799), between 15 and 19 (613), below 4 (571), and between 20 and 24 (438), with total population of 3,311. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (126), between 65 and 69 (136), above 75 (157),between 55 and 59 (190), and between 60 and 64 (191), with total population of 800.

The population with age-group 60 to 64 had male to female ratio of 1.21, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.73. The age-groups 60 to 64, 45 to 49, 70 to 74, above 75, 55 to 59, below 4, 50 to 54 had majority of male population while age-groups 15 to 19, 10 to 14, 5 to 9, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 40 to 44, 25 to 29, 20 to 24 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 65 to 69 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 54.66 % (6,463 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 37.96 % with total number of 4,488. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 7.38 % with total number of 873. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 45.34 with total number of 5,361

There were 2,713 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 1,186. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 437 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 1,157 in Naukunda Rural Municipality with 528 (45.64%) of males and 629 (54.36%) females. There were total 29 schools. In average, 40 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Naukunda Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tamang caste with total population of 10,050. There were as little as Damai/Dholi caste with population of as little as 14 in total. People of several other castes who live in Naukunda are Ghale, Newar, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Gurung, Chhetri, Magar, Damai/Dholi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Naukunda Rural Municipality are Tamang (10,050), Ghale (402), Newar (373), Brahmin - Hill (354) and Kami (259) with total population of 11,438, which forms 96.74 percent out of total population of 11,824 in Naukunda Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 11,824, there were total 179 (1.51%) disabled persons in Naukunda Rural Municipality with 112 (62.57%) males and 67 (37.43%) females. The physically disabled persons were 64, while mentally disabled people were 7 and intellectually disabled were 4.

Out of total 2483 households in Naukunda Rural Municipality, there were 2,461 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 4 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,430 houses were mud bonded, 30 houses were cement bonded, 5 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 44 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,595 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 809 houses had roof of tile, 0 houses had RCC roofs, 4 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 1,534 out of 2,483 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 551 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 389 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Naukunda Rural Municipality, there were total 2,162 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 0 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 3 houses had covered well while 28 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (265) and river stream (12), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 2,440 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 27 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 4 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (0), bio-gas (0), fuel electricity (2), etc.

Same as, total 1,542 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 505, while 36 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.62.

out of 2,483 households in Naukunda Rural Municipality, 592 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 1,859 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 1,502, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,194.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 209 establishments in Naukunda Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 552 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 325 and female engagement of 227 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.64 people engaged with average males are 1.56 and females are 1.09. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.43, which means as many as 1.43 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
