Kushma Municipality (Parbat) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Kushma Municipality (Parbat district), candidate Ram Chandra Joshi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 8,057 (48.16%) votes out of total votes of 16,728 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Meghnath Subedi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 7,239 (29.21%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 1,432 (4.28) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Sita Kumari Kafle of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 8,419 (50.25%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Muwa Kumari Sharma of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 7,023 (27.90%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 1,313 (3.92) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 248 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 158 (63.71%) males and 90 (36.29%) females. Moreover, there were total 55 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 14 wards. Same as, total 100 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 41 females and 39 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
