Khumbupasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (Solukhumbu) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Khumbupasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (Solukhumbu district), candidate Ngim Dorji Sherpa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,424 (50.25%) votes out of total votes of 2,834 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Chungba Sherpa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 1,402 (32.93%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 8 (0.14) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Tashi Lhamu Sherpa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,421 (48.27%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Nagna Lamu Sherpa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 846 (19.38%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 677 (11.50) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 77 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 49 (63.64%) males and 28 (36.36%) females. Moreover, there were total 14 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 31 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 15 females and 11 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
