The candidte of Nepali Congress Party - Narahari Acharya secured 13,245 (38.53%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Ishwor Pokhrel of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) who secured 9,120 (26.53%) votes and came in second position.
