There were 50,838 votes casted during 1999 House of Representatives elections in Gulmi District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Pradip Kumar Gyawali secured 24,345 (47.89%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Chandra Bahadur K.c. of Nepali Congress Party who secured 23,669 (46.56%) votes and came in second position.
