Kanda Rural Municipality (Bajhang) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Kanda Rural Municipality (Bajhang district), candidate Rajendra Bahadur Dhami of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 394 (52.46%) votes out of total votes of 751 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Manbir Bohara of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 336 (29.34%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 21 (1.40) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kalapana Devi Bohara of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 394 (52.39%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Dolma Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 326 (28.45%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 32 (2.13) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 57 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 36 (63.16%) males and 21 (36.84%) females. Moreover, there were total 12 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 22 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 11 females and 6 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
