Ghodaghodi is a Municipality, which is located in Kailali district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Ghodaghodi has total 12 wards, which are scattered across 354 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ghodaghodi Municipality had total population of 75,586.

As of 2011, 4,448 population in Ghodaghodi Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 5.88 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 3,645, which equals to 9.89 percent of total 36,852 males. Same as, 803 females were absent, which equals to 2.07 percent of 38,734 females. At least one member of 2,682 (20.36 percent) households were absent.

In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were above 75 (440), between 70 and 74 (467), between 65 and 69 (648),between 60 and 64 (845), and between 55 and 59 (952), with total population of 3,352. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (5,324), between 15 and 19 (4,908), between 5 and 9 (4,863), between 20 and 24 (4,066), and below 4 (3,671), with total population of 22,832. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (457), above 75 (457), between 65 and 69 (638),between 55 and 59 (886), and between 60 and 64 (963), with total population of 3,401.

The population with age-group 50 to 54 had male to female ratio of 1.08, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 30 to 34 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.81. The age-groups 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 10 to 14, below 4, 5 to 9, 45 to 49, 65 to 69, 70 to 74 had majority of male population while age-groups above 75, 15 to 19, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 60 to 64, 25 to 29, 20 to 24, 30 to 34 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 367 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 51,116 in Ghodaghodi Municipality with 26,184 (51.22%) of males and 24,932 (48.78%) females. There were total 89 schools. In average, 574 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ghodaghodi Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tharu caste with total population of 31,278. There were as little as Rai caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Ghodaghodi are Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Thakuri, Magar, Damai/Dholi, Dalit Others, Sarki, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Lohar, Badi, Gurung, Muslim, Tamang, Newar, Terai Others, Haluwai, Meche, Raji, Kumal, Koiri/Kushwaha, Bangali, Rajput, Yadav, Kathbaniyan, Rai, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Ghodaghodi Municipality are Tharu (31,278), Chhetri (20,471), Brahmin - Hill (8,997), Kami (4,880) and Thakuri (3,585) with total population of 69,211, which forms 91.57 percent out of total population of 75,586 in Ghodaghodi Municipality.

Out of total population of 75,586, there were total 1,267 (1.68%) disabled persons in Ghodaghodi Municipality with 660 (52.09%) males and 607 (47.91%) females. The physically disabled persons were 460, while mentally disabled people were 67 and intellectually disabled were 17.

Similarly, there were 314 people who were blind and 177 people were deaf, while 16 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 120 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 96 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 13174 households in Ghodaghodi Municipality, there were 520 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,483 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 224 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 10,760houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 738 houses were mud bonded, 1,654 houses were cement bonded, 8,128 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,242 houses were bamboo bonded and 32 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,446 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,630 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 9,102 houses had roof of tile, 668 houses had RCC roofs, 181 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 8,172 out of 13,174 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,887 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 2,038 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Ghodaghodi Municipality, there were total 621 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 12,019 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 27 houses had covered well while 29 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (118) and river stream (31), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 12,230 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 96 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 196 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (42), bio-gas (528), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 3,387 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 4,152, while 2,973 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.26.

out of 13,174 households in Ghodaghodi Municipality, 1,200 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 11,733 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 9,149, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 8,782.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,576 establishments in Ghodaghodi Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 4,081 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 2,678 and female engagement of 1,403 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.59 people engaged with average males are 1.70 and females are 0.89. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.91, which means as many as 1.91 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
