There were 35,525 votes casted during 2008 Constituent Assembly elections in Dang District, Constituency No. 2. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) - Dama Kumari Sharma secured 20,240 (56.97%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Krishna Kishor Ghimire of Nepali Congress Party who secured 6,930 (19.51%) votes and came in second position. The difference in votes of Dama Kumari Sharma and Krishna Kishor Ghimire was 13,310. All other candidates secured 8,355 (23.52%) votes.
