Bhumlu Rural Municipality (Kavrepalanchok) Election Results 2017
In 2017 election of Bhumlu Rural Municipality (Kavrepalanchok district), candidate Guman Dhwoj Kunwar of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,548 (39.35%) votes out of total votes of 9,017 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tasbir Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,949 (23.47%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,520 (13.97) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kalpana Kumari Shrestha of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,536 (40.47%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Shanta Chhetri Thap of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,830 (23.06%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,371 (13.57) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 179 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 112 (62.57%) males and 67 (37.43%) females. Moreover, there were total 42 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 65 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 31 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
