Belbari is a Municipality, which is located in Morang district, Province No. 1 of Nepal. Belbari has total 11 wards, which are scattered across 133 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Belbari Municipality had total population of 65,892.

Wardwise Population and Households

As per 2011 population census, Belbari Municipality had total 65,892 population with 30,111 males and 35,781 females. Out of total wards, ward number 9 had the largest population 7,655, while ward number 6 had least number of population with 7,655.

With respect to number of households, Belbari Municipality had total 15,338 households. The ward number 4 had most households with total 1,753, while ward number 6 had least number of households with total 912 number of households.Wardwise Population Chart of Belbari Municipality

In terms of age, the largest population in Belbari Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 7,961. Gender wise, there were 4,026 males and 3,935 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 1,147 population, which consistes of 586 males and 561 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were between 10 and 14 (7,961), between 15 and 19 (7,438), between 5 and 9 (6,606), between 20 and 24 (5,786), below 4 (5,311) with total population of 33,102. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (4,026), between 15 and 19 (3,548), between 5 and 9 (3,331), below 4 (2,649), and between 20 and 24 (2,203), with total population of 15,757. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (586), above 75 (658), between 65 and 69 (817),between 60 and 64 (1,164), and between 55 and 59 (1,263), with total population of 4,488. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 10 and 14 (3,935), between 15 and 19 (3,890), between 20 and 24 (3,583), between 5 and 9 (3,275), and between 25 and 29 (3,240), with total population of 17,923. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (561), above 75 (764), between 65 and 69 (824),between 60 and 64 (1,207), and between 55 and 59 (1,278), with total population of 4,634.

The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.04, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.55. The age-groups 70 to 74, 5 to 9, 10 to 14 had majority of male population while age-groups 55 to 59, 65 to 69, 60 to 64, 15 to 19, 50 to 54, above 75, 45 to 49, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups below 4 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 63.44 % (41,804 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 30.17 % with total number of 19,878. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 6.39 % with total number of 4,210. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 36.56 with total number of 24,088

There were 19,692 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 5,311. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 270 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

Grade 1-12 Students & Schools

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,681 in Belbari Municipality with 4,196 (48.34%) of males and 4,485 (51.66%) females. There were total 41 schools. In average, 212 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Belbari Municipality are Chhetri (12,327), Brahmin - Hill (7,359), Rai (7,070), Tharu (6,248) and Khawas (3,633) with total population of 36,637, which forms 55.60 percent out of total population of 65,892 in Belbari Municipality.

Population by Disability

Out of total population of 65,892, there were total 1,300 (1.97%) disabled persons in Belbari Municipality with 692 (53.23%) males and 608 (46.77%) females. The physically disabled persons were 430, while mentally disabled people were 73 and intellectually disabled were 28.

Similarly, there were 225 people who were blind and 229 people were deaf, while 18 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 189 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 108 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation

Out of total 15338 households in Belbari Municipality, there were 221 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 2,633 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1,830 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 9,215houses were founded on wood.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 4,771 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 8,770 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 82 houses had roof of tile, 1,550 houses had RCC roofs, 38 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 4,808 out of 15,338 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 5,947 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 4,513 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

Utilities

In Belbari Municipality, there were total 225 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 14,751 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 41 houses had covered well while 26 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. With reference to source of fuel, 11,238 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 91 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 2,254 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (669), bio-gas (978), fuel electricity (13), etc.

Same as, total 13,428 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,721, while 55 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.88.

Facilities

out of 15,338 households in Belbari Municipality, 1,141 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 14,076 households reported of using at least one facility.
