There were 42,362 votes casted during 1994 House of Representatives elections in Bajura District, Constituency No. 1. The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Hikmat Bahadur Shahi secured 21,013 (49.60%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Dev Raj Joshi of Nepali Congress Party who secured 19,503 (46.04%) votes and came in second position.
