Baijanath is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Banke district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Baijanath has total 8 wards, which are scattered across 142 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Baijanath Rural Municipality had total population of 54,418.

As of 2011, 4,053 population in Baijanath Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 7.45 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 3,504, which equals to 13.81 percent of total 25,372 males. Same as, 549 females were absent, which equals to 1.89 percent of 29,046 females. At least one member of 2,878 (26.01 percent) households were absent.

The population with age-group 65 to 69 had male to female ratio of 1.14, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.59. The age-groups 65 to 69, 5 to 9, below 4, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 70 to 74 had majority of male population while age-groups above 75, 45 to 49, 60 to 64, 40 to 44, 15 to 19, 35 to 39, 30 to 34, 20 to 24, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups 10 to 14 had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 51,159 in Baijanath Rural Municipality with 26,284 (51.38%) of males and 24,875 (48.62%) females. There were total 57 schools. In average, 898 students were studying in each school.

Top five castes of people in Baijanath Rural Municipality are Tharu (19,889), Chhetri (14,833), Kami (5,278), Magar (4,231) and Thakuri (3,228) with total population of 47,459, which forms 87.21 percent out of total population of 54,418 in Baijanath Rural Municipality.

Out of total population of 54,418, there were total 1,530 (2.81%) disabled persons in Baijanath Rural Municipality with 805 (52.61%) males and 725 (47.39%) females. The physically disabled persons were 577, while mentally disabled people were 78 and intellectually disabled were 64.

Out of total 11066 households in Baijanath Rural Municipality, there were 4,552 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,468 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 211 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 1,178houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 2,657 houses were mud bonded, 1,857 houses were cement bonded, 247 houses were wood planks bonded, 164 houses were bamboo bonded and 3,155 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 885 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,122 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 7,013 houses had roof of tile, 1,945 houses had RCC roofs, 23 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 5,468 out of 11,066 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,869 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 2,704 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Baijanath Rural Municipality, there were total 715 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 9,858 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 42 houses had covered well while 9 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (23) and river stream (4), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 9,330 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 21 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 513 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (398), bio-gas (759), fuel electricity (6), etc.

Same as, total 8,722 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,167, while 40 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.79.

out of 11,066 households in Baijanath Rural Municipality, 866 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 10,024 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Bicycle was used by the maximum households with total users of 8,101, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 6,886.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,481 establishments in Baijanath Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 4,303 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 2,335 and female engagement of 1,968 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.91 people engaged with average males are 1.58 and females are 1.33. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.19, which means as many as 1.19 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
