Baglung is a Municipality, which is located in Baglung district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Baglung has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 98 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Baglung Municipality had total population of 57,823.

As of 2011, 8,175 population in Baglung Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 14.14 percent of the total population. Absence of males was 7,221, which equals to 28.26 percent of total 25,548 males. Same as, 954 females were absent, which equals to 2.96 percent of 32,275 females. At least one member of 5,818 (38.32 percent) households were absent.

In terms of age, the largest population in Baglung Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 7,073. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 1,090 population, which consistes of 525 males and 565 females. Gender wise, top 5 most age groups male population were between 10 and 14 (3,513), between 5 and 9 (3,267), between 15 and 19 (3,099), below 4 (2,740), and between 20 and 24 (2,018), with total population of 14,637. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (525), between 65 and 69 (685), above 75 (694),between 60 and 64 (826), and between 55 and 59 (909), with total population of 3,639. With regards to female population, top 5 age groups females were between 20 and 24 (3,661), between 15 and 19 (3,571), between 10 and 14 (3,560), between 25 and 29 (3,020), and between 5 and 9 (2,999), with total population of 16,811. In contrast, bottom 5 least age group male population were between 70 and 74 (565), above 75 (735), between 65 and 69 (798),between 60 and 64 (1,014), and between 55 and 59 (1,112), with total population of 4,224.

The population with age-group below 4 had male to female ratio of 1.15, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.50. The age-groups below 4, 5 to 9 had majority of male population while age-groups 10 to 14, above 75, 70 to 74, 15 to 19, 65 to 69, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 50 to 54, 45 to 49, 40 to 44, 35 to 39, 20 to 24, 30 to 34, 25 to 29 had majority of female population as per male-female ratios. Moreover, age-groups had eqivalent or almost equal numbers of male and female population with male-female ratios of 1.

There were 61.14 % (35,352 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 31.94 % with total number of 18,469. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 6.92 % with total number of 4,002. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 38.86 with total number of 22,471

There were 17,803 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 5,130. The ratio of woman of child-bearing age and the number of todlers state that, approximately 288 children were born per 1,000 women. This number is also roughly used as fertility levels when direct measures of births are not available.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,406 in Baglung Municipality with 3,948 (46.97%) of males and 4,458 (53.03%) females. There were total 119 schools. In average, 71 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Baglung Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Brahmin - Hill caste with total population of 18,279. There were as little as Sunuwar caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Baglung are Chhetri, Magar, Sarki, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Newar, Thakuri, Muslim, Chhantyal/Chhantel, Tamang, Majhi, Gurung, Thakali, Dalit Others, Gaine, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Rai, Tharu, Kumal, Teli, Sonar, Terai Others, Yadav, Kathbaniyan, Haluwai, Gharti/Bhujel, Hajam/Thakur, Brahmin - Tarai, Sunuwar, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Top five castes of people in Baglung Municipality are Brahmin - Hill (18,279), Chhetri (14,200), Magar (8,987), Sarki (6,034) and Kami (2,965) with total population of 50,465, which forms 87.27 percent out of total population of 57,823 in Baglung Municipality.

Out of total population of 57,823, there were total 1,111 (1.92%) disabled persons in Baglung Municipality with 573 (51.58%) males and 538 (48.42%) females. The physically disabled persons were 417, while mentally disabled people were 112 and intellectually disabled were 39.

Similarly, there were 154 people who were blind and 137 people were deaf, while 16 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 153 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 83 people had multiple disabilities.

Out of total 15182 households in Baglung Municipality, there were 11,202 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,460 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 2,383 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 68houses were founded on wood.

With respect to wall of the houses, 10,878 houses were mud bonded, 4,019 houses were cement bonded, 67 houses were wood planks bonded, 60 houses were bamboo bonded and 25 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 721 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 6,043 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 5,004 houses had roof of tile, 3,321 houses had RCC roofs, 10 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With respect to the toilets, 789 out of 15,182 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 11,846 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 2,510 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

In Baglung Municipality, there were total 14,206 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 11 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 98 houses had covered well while 171 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (627) and river stream (29), which were reported of the household's source of water.

With reference to source of fuel, 9,710 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 69 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 5,292 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (4), bio-gas (63), fuel electricity (1), etc.

Same as, total 14,687 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 405, while 10 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.97.

out of 15,182 households in Baglung Municipality, 1,013 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 13,996 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 12,770, while Radio was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 9,084.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 2,907 establishments in Baglung Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 9,320 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 5,151 and female engagement of 4,169 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.21 people engaged with average males are 1.77 and females are 1.43. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.24, which means as many as 1.24 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
