{"id":2984,"date":"2020-03-01T18:36:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-01T12:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nepalarchives.com\/news\/2020\/03\/01\/hor-meeting-put-off-due-to-lack-of-quorum\/"},"modified":"2020-03-01T18:36:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-01T12:51:00","slug":"hor-meeting-put-off-due-to-lack-of-quorum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nepalarchives.com\/news\/2020\/03\/01\/hor-meeting-put-off-due-to-lack-of-quorum\/","title":{"rendered":"HoR meeting put off due to lack of quorum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The meeting of House of Representative (HoR) on Sunday was put off as it fails to secure a quorum.<\/p>\n<p>Nepali Congress (NC)&#8217;s parliamentarian Prakash Rashaili expressed his qualm over the HoR&#8217;s Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota tabling the proposal seeking deliberation on &#8216;Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment)-2076 for its consideration.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Article 94 of the Constitution of Nepal, one-fourth of the HoR members should be present at the meeting to table any proposal or pose any questions for taking decisions on it.<\/p>\n<p>The HoR meeting could only muster 54 members while it required at least 69 HoR members to garner a quorum in the meeting. As a result, the proposal seeking deliberation of the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill-2076 was not approved.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker Sapkota informed the House that all the proposals in the today&#8217;s agendas were removed after failing to have a quorum.
