Minister for Forests and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that ‘Sagarmatha Rastriya Sambad’ organised by the government for the preparation of ‘Sagarmatha Sambad’ programme on Sunday has become successful in its objective.<\/p>\n
At a concluding ceremony of ‘Sagarmatha Rastriya Sambat’, Minister Basnet argued that programme became very significant in view of issues raised in the programme as well as other different aspects.<\/p>\n
He added that the issues raised in the programme have given a direction to move ahead in future.<\/p>\n
Saying that the communities, which are vulnerable to climate change impacts, are at the receiving end, the Forest Minister said, "We have been implementing programmes related to the adaptation and mitigation of climate change climate change resilience."<\/p>\n
He stressed the need of linking country’s river system with green economy and maritime economy.<\/p>\n
The Sagarmatha Rastriya Samba programme was organised in the capital here on Sunday as a preparatory of ‘Sagarmatha Sambad, which is going to be organised in April with an objective of holding extensive discussions on issues of national, regional, international and global-level contemporary and common interest.<\/p>\n
Similarly, National Planning Commission Member Dr Krishna Prasad Oli suggested to make recognition of exemplary works achieved by Nepal in environment sector at the international forum.<\/p>\n
Likewise, Joint-Secretary at the Foreign Ministry and member \u2013secretary of Sagarmatha Sambad Organising Committee Kumar Raj Kharel said that the issues raised in four sessions would be prepared as a report.<\/p>\n
