{"id":2484,"date":"2020-02-10T16:36:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-10T10:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nepalarchives.com\/news\/2020\/02\/10\/nc-obstructs-sa-session-third-time\/"},"modified":"2020-02-10T16:36:00","modified_gmt":"2020-02-10T10:51:00","slug":"nc-obstructs-sa-session-third-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nepalarchives.com\/news\/2020\/02\/10\/nc-obstructs-sa-session-third-time\/","title":{"rendered":"NC obstructs SA session third time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The State 1 state assembly session today could not continue its proceedings due to the obstruction from the major opposition Nepali Congress.<\/p>\n<p>With the commencement of session which had begun around 20 minutes late, the NC lawmakers stood from their respective seats as a mark of their protest.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third time the party obstructed the SA over the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)&#8217;s move to file a case against party parliamentary deputy leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar on the Lalita Niwas land procurement scam. The CIAA has filed a lawsuit against 175 people including the party leader at the Special Court.<\/p>\n<p>Though speaker Pradeep Kumar Bhandari frequently urged the opposition members for their cooperation in keeping the SA running, the lawmakers refused to take their seats.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker Bhandari said the matter could not be addressed through the SA as it had already entered the court, drawing their attention towards maintaining the SA supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>The session has been adjourned till 1:00 pm tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>State minister for industry, forest and environment Jagadish Prasad Kusiyat was scheduled to present the bill in regard with the protection of State&#8217;s environment in today&#8217;s meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The State 1 state assembly session today could not continue its proceedings due to the obstruction from the major opposition Nepali Congress.
