The meeting of the National Democracy Day Main Celebration Committee today decided to form various sub-committees to make preparations for the event to be marked on Falgun 7.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was held in presence of the Committee Chair Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Accordingly, the publicity sub-committee has been formed under the chair of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota, state decoration and management sub-committee led by mayor of Kathmandu Bidya Sundar Shakya and ground, drill and exercise management sub-committee under the chair of CDO of Kathmandu Janak Raj Dahal.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations will take place for three days on Falgun 6, 7 and 8, said Home Secretary Maheswar Neupane. A special function will be held on the main day i.e. Falgun 7 in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Tundikhel.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the government has decided to request one and all to light lamps in the evenings of Falgun 6, 7 and 8. The Nepali diplomatic missions will also be organising a variety of programmes for three days to mark the democracy day.<\/p>\n<p>Falgun 7 is observed as the national democracy day in commemoration of the establishment of democracy in the country, following the end of the 104-year-old autocratic Rana regime in 2007 B.S.
