PP booth set up at Bhaktapur hospital for COVID-19 test

A PP (personal protection) booth has been set up at Bhaktapur Hospital Dudhpati for testing for coronavirus.

The booth has been set up outside the emergency ward of the hospital on Tuesday, Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Sumitra Gautam said.

The COVID-19 testing facility was set up with the assistance from the National Innovation Centre and the America Nepal Medical Foundation. Dr Mahabir Pun is the chair of the Centre.

According to Dr Gautam, the personal protection booth is for the safety of doctors and medical workers while collecting throat swab of suspected coronavirus patients for tests.

Pharmacy selling fake sanitiser faces action

Meanwhile, the proprietor of a pharmacy found selling fake hand sanitiser has been held on Tuesday. Proprietor of the Kayakalpa Ayurveda Pharmacy at Kamal Binayak of Bhaktapur municipality, 28-year-old Reena Ojha, has been held for the offence.

A team comprising senior pharmaceutical officer at the Department of Drug Administration Babarmahal, Usha Tandukar and Police Inspector Shashidhar Sharma of the Police Range Bhaktapur carried out a search at the pharmacy and found the fake sanitisers at the pharmacy.

One hundred forty nine units of the fake ‘Instant Hand Sanitiser’ have been confiscated from the pharmacy and police investigation has been initiated in this connection.
