Coordinating ministers hold talks with health minister

Federal Ministers assigned to coordinate States on Wednesday organised talks with Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal on finding ways to prevent and control coronavirus.

The ministers, who have been delegated responsibilities to coordinate with the state government to control and prevent the infection, apprised Minister Dhakal of the situation in the respective states. Present on the occasion were Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Basanta Nembang, Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal and Minister from Drinking Water and Sanitation Bina Magar.

Minister Nembang has been given responsibilities to coordinate with State 1 government, Aryal with Gandaki State government and Magar with Sudurpaschim State government.

During the meeting, Minister Dhakal shared about the efforts underway to prevent and control the virus and preparations to increase swabs testing capacity. At present, swabs of 3,000 suspected people can be tested in 10 laboratories across the country and its capacity would be increased by supplying more testing machines to laboratories in state level, he said.
