Local levels of Tanahun set up relief fund

All local levels in Tanahun district have established disaster management fund to cope up with the risk of COVID-19. Six municipalities and four rural municipalities of the district have brought the fund into operation.

Vyas municipality has established the fund of Rs 10 million. Arrangement of medicines and necessary equipment to health workers would be made available from the fund.

Similarly, Shuklagandaki municipality has set up the fund of Rs 6 million and the fund would be utilized to purchase necessary materials and to run awareness programmes so as to prevent coronavirus spread, said mayor Kisan Gurung.

Likewise, Myade rural municipality has instituted the fund of Rs 2.5 million while Devghat rural municipality of Rs 2 million and Bandipur rural municipality of Rs 1.5 million.

Bhanu municipality has set up the fund of Rs 5 million while fund of Rs 2.5 million by Aabukhaireni rural municipality, Rs 2.6 million by Bhimad municipality, Rs 4.8 million by Ghiring rural municipality and Rs 500,000 by Rishing rural municipality.

Gandaki state government has allocated Rs 7 million to local levels to provide relief package to poor families affected by lockdown.

The four municipalities have got Rs 1 million each while six rural municipalities got Rs 500,000 each.
