NC General Secretary Koirala urges govt to be result-oriented

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala has urged the government to undertake result-oriented works. Issuing a press statement here Friday, leader Koirala appealed to the government to make its efforts result-oriented at this critical time when the whole world is battling against the COVID-19.

“It’s very important to raise awareness among people about the lockdown enforced by the government and its efforts to contain the outbreak of COVID-19,” the statement read.

Koirala demanded an impartial probe into the cases of irregularities reported in the media on the procurement of medical appliances from China. Drawing the attention of government towards the patients who needed emergency service but were not getting them, he viewed that the government should take into account the health and well-being of all patients undergoing treatment in various health facilities across the countries.

The leader also urged the government to deliver in action when it comes to providing relief packages for the daily wagers and impoverished section of population who were hardest hit by the ongoing lockdown.

Furthermore, leader Koirala called upon the government to evacuate those stranded Nepalis abroad through diplomatic channels and arrange quarantine facilities for the foreign returnee.

Also, he called for putting in place the necessary arrangement for those suspected of having contracted COVID-19 to safely reach the hospital for getting their tests done. He urged all the Nepalis to take their health into serious account and pay special attention to personal hygiene and sanitation to prevent the possibility of catching the deadly infection.
