Awareness on coronavirus in Chepang community

A public awareness programme has been launched at Chepang community of ward no 1 in Ichchhamanakamana rural municipality, Chitwan, to stay away from the spread of coronavirus infection. The indigenous people from the remote hilly area of Chitwan district are instructed on washing hands with soap.

Village Social Impact’s chair Dhruba Giri informed that the Chepang people were distributed soaps and made aware of sanitation and COVID-19 spread. In the first phase, 33 households from Tobang and 11 households from Siraichuli were provided the soap in the presence of local sanitation activists Bhim Chepang, Dhanlal Chepang and Bhadra Chepang.

60 foreign returnees in home quarantine

Meanwhile, as many as 60 persons returned from abroad have adopted home quarantine in different wards of Kalika municipality of Chitwan, said municipality mayor Khum Narayan Shrestha. They were asked to contact municipality office in case of emergency.

A 13-member home quarantine committee has been formed with the leadership of mediation coordinator Sudarshan Adhikari in the municipality. The committee has been monitoring those staying in home quarantine. Similarly, a 15-bed quarantine has been set up at Jutpani.
