Two Air Arabia travellers in home quarantine

Among those arriving Nepal in Air Arabia’s flight on March 19, two were identified to belong to Makawanpur district and they were currently in isolation.

The identified passengers were learnt to be observing self-quarantine. A 32-year-old woman from Makawanpurgadhi, who flew to Nepal from Cyprus, is learnt to have been living in isolation at her brother’s house at Chandragiri in Kathmandu.

Another 49-yearold man from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-12 was deported to Nepal by Qatari police and has been in home quarantine, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur. Both tested negative in a test for the flu-like infection.

It may be noted that one of the Nepali passenger boarding the same flight was tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) following a test conducted at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku.

Meanwhile, Police and Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City have been urging people to comply with the government’s lockdown directive and stay indoors to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19.

According to State Health Directorate Chief Ramesh Adhikari, preparation was made to mobilize human resources from all 10 local units in Makawanpur district for conducting nasal and throat swabs test. Quarantine facilities were set up in school buildings for those suspected of having COVID-19, shared Adhikari.
