NMA asks to boost up doctors’ morale to fight against COVID-19

The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has called upon the government to boost up the morale of doctors and health workers involved in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

In a statement today, NMA’s secretary general Badri Rijal has demanded that the health workers and doctors involved in the treatment process of Coronavirus patients even by risking their lives be given live insurance, health care insurance and special insurance to keep the medicos’ morale high.

The doctors should be provided with basic security equipment as recommended by the World Health Organization, the NMA includes in its demand lists.

The NMA has further stressed the need for more concrete steps to make the campaigns against COVID-19 effective through coordination between the federal, state and local governments.
