51 foreign tourists stranded in Mustang rescued

Tourists stranded in Mustang in the aftermath of lockdown enforced by the government as a measure to contain COVID-19 outbreak have been rescued. The Mustang District Administration Office, Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Area Conservation Office Jomsom, District Police Office and tourist police joined hands to rescue 51 foreign tourists stranded in different destinations in Mustang.

Tulasi Dahal, chief of ACAP Office Jomsom, shared that two buses were arranged to take the rescued tourists to Kathmandu. He further shared ACAP collected detail information about the tourists and got their health examined before sending them to the capital.

The rescued tourists are from Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, shared Chief District Officer Bed Prasad Aryal. The tourists rescued from Mustang would be handed over to Nepal Tourism Board and concerned embassies, he added.

Earlier, 122 foreign tourists from different countries were rescued from Mustang and sent to Kathmandu.
