High-Powered Commission to resolve land-related problems to be formed

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal, has said that problems of landless squatters are going to be resolved.
Taking time in today’s National Assembly meeting, Minister Aryal shared that preparation was on to form high-powered commission to resolve land-related problems including landless squatters’ problem and unsystematic settlement in a permanent manner.
She said, "We have formulated land-use policy for the first time. It will resolve all problems related to land." Saying the government would address the problems giving priority to landless squatters across the country." The Minister shared information that unsystematic settlement would be managed later.
Responding to queries raised by lawmakers, Minister Aryal expressed the view that the government has been involved to protect public property and expected support of all in government’s move.
She also informed that a commission has been formed to bring the encroached public properties back and protect them, adding that the registration of 284 bighas of land in Tarai and 96 ropanis in hilly areas has been rescinded so far.
Minister Aryal added, "An arrangement to file complaint directly at the Commission and Ministry has been made regarding the seized government land."
She opined that Land Revenue Offices have been modernized and their services made easy and smooth for the people by using technology.
