Minister Aryal made aware of border dispute

People’s representatives from Kanchanpur including Minister for Drinking Water, Bina Magar, called on Minister for Land Management and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Aryal, and urged her to take initiative to settle the border disputes (Nepal-India) in the district.
The people’s representatives led by Minister Magar reminded Minister Aryal that stripes map needs to be revised, Junge Pillars set up after Sugauli Treaty be made international border line, old and damaged pillars repaired and restored in the proper place, land cultivated and owned by Nepalis returned and the people to be affected by the border demarcation managed.
In response, Minister Aryal observed that Nepal-India border dispute could be settled from the political leaderships. "Only Ministry employees cannot solve the two-country problem. So, political level decision is required along with field visits," she added.
Earlier, the delegation had called on Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and demanded the correction of the stripes map.
