Province no. 2 fails to name itself

The State Assembly of State no. 2 failed to vote a name for the State. In the voting that took place at the Assembly, consensus could not be reached on any name.
Janaki, Mithila Bhojpura, Madhya Madhesh and Madhesh Pradesh were the four names put to vote on Tuesday. Janaki was proposed by the NCP, Mithila Bhojpura by Nepali Congress, Madhya Madesh by NC parliamentarian Rajeshwar Prasad Shah and Madesh Pradhesh by the ruling Samajbadi and Rastriya Janata Party.
No proposal received the required two-thirds vote of the 107-member State Assembly. The proposal to name Madesh Pradesh received the highest vote of 60 votes, against the required 72 votes.
The process will have to start again as all the four proposals failed to be accepted. The parties will need to submit proposals to vote again.
