People leaving Kathmandu for homes outside increasing

Amid coronavirus fear, the number of people leaving Kathmandu for their homes outside is increasing. Approximately 300,000 people have left the central capital in the past three days, said the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division.

Over infection fear, the government recently shut down educational institutions, cinema halls, pubs, gyms, museums, party palaces, dance bars, entertainment places for at least one month over and asked people not to gather in a crowd of more than 25 people.

Today alone, over 100,000 left Kathmandu through various transits with the valley, while the number of incoming passengers from various districts was only over 18,000, said the traffic police. Similarly, the number of departing passengers was over 91,000 and incoming passengers over 90,000.
