Clean-up campaign in place to save off coronavirus

The Bagmati clean-up mega campaign has been utilized to spread public awareness to fight against coronavirus.

The 357th weeks of mega campaign today was focused on cleaning up the area in and around Sinamnagal bridge, road and river as well as spreading awareness among public about the threat of COVID-19.

All three security agencies were told not to join the campaign since last week. The notification was made in keeping with the need of security agencies’ mobilization in other areas against corona menace.

Executive Member of the High-Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Development Mala Kharel shared that the public awareness creating work was carried out on the presence of limited campaigners in fear of coronavirus outbreak.

As many as 120 campaigners from 14 organizations were present in today’s awareness building campaign. Aroudn two metric tons of solid waste was managed in the campaign.

Likewise, public awareness creating campaign was put in place at Kathmandu metropolis-13 and Nagarjun municipality-4 in course of the 137th weeks of Chakrapath western part clean-up drive.
