Army staff college launches course on security

Short course on security and national interest has begun today at Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri in the capital.
A 15-day long course is organized to officials of different ministries and bodies aimed at forging similar understanding on matters of national interest and security.
Officials from ministries of Defence; Home Affairs; Forest and Environment; and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs are attending the training.
While inaugurating the class today, Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa opined that the course will further help understand and analyze the possible security challenges and forging similar kind of understanding in national interest and defence. "Such programmes help forge coordination among the concerned sides at the time of need," he said.
Similarly, Secretary at the Defence Ministry Reshmi Raj Pandey opined that the class will be effective in addressing new kinds of security threats and interests surfaced across the globe.
Experts in security, diplomacy, energy among others would make presentation on different topics.
