President administers oath to Minister Tumbahangphe

President Bidya Devi Bhandari today administered oath of office and secrecy to newly-appointed Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Shivamaya Tumbahangphe.

Tumbahangphe took oath of office at a function organised in Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas. Tumbahangphe, who served as the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, was appointed to the post of minister earlier today.

Tumbahangphe had resigned from the post of deputy speaker last month to pave a way for the election of the Speaker of the House.

The newly-appointed minister was elected the parliamentarian of the lower house from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) under the proportional electoral system.

During the swearing-in ceremony, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker, the Chairman of the National Assembly and ministers, among others were present.

With its formation two years ago, the KP Sharma Oli-led government has been reshuffled eight times so far.

Prior to this, Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal was assuming the post of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as well.
