Karnali best tourist destination: VP

Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the Karnali state has made a niche for itself in terms of tourism. Inaugurating the second Karnali expo 2020 here today, he said that Karnali was the best in Nepal for tourism and appealed to all to visit Karnali and other destinations in the country rather than going to visit foreign countries.

"Not spending hundreds of thousand for holidays aboard but spending thousand rupees within the country will help the nation become prosperous," he said. As the origin of Nepali Khas culture and the major source of medicinal herbs and minerals, Karnali also has a distinct identity in the country.

The Vice-president also urged the federal government as well as the private sector to give special attention to Karnali, which lags behind in terms of development.

Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi said the festival was oranised to promote Karnali as an ‘organic state.’ "We are also seeking industrial development possibilities for the development of Karnali," he added.
