NCP secretariat leaders discuss about MCC

A meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secretariat held on Saturday discussed the contents of the US government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) proposal.

During the meeting organised at Prime Minister’s official residence, the MCC study taskforce coordinator and party senior leader Jhalanath Khanal shared the details about the report that was prepared by his team.

Prime Minister’s press advisor Surya Thapa said that different details were submitted about the MCC adding that intensive discussions were held regarding its contents.

Further discussions are supposed to be held in the secretariat meeting on the MCC compact.

Earlier, the ruling NCP had formed a three member taskforce led by senior leader Khanal to study the nitty-gritty of the MCC compacts and agreement.

The taskforce had submitted its report to the party chairman duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
