Tourism Minister Bhattarai and Israel’s Economy Minister talk investment, trade and tourism

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai and the Minister of Economy of the State of Israel, Mr Eli Cohen, met with each other, in the Ministry this morning.

The meeting was focused on the matters of cooperation in the field of investment, trade and tourism, the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv, Israel stated in a press release.

Minister Bhattarai highlighted the potential areas of investment in Nepal such as hydropower, hotels, casinos, agriculture, among others. Also, the meeting searched avenues of searching markets for Nepali tea, coffee, cardamom, and other spices in Israel. The Minister discussed to open other areas like restaurants and other business besides the caregiver sector.

The Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister expressed happiness to hear about the upcoming State Visit of the President of the State of Israel to Nepal which is going to be followed by the State Visit of the Prime Minister of Nepal to the State of Israel. The two Ministers expressed their commitments for the exchange of visits of business delegation as well.

As the year 2020 is being celebrated as Visit Nepal Year 2020, the Minister requested the Israeli Minister to visit Nepal within this year which was readily accepted by Minister Cohen.

In both of the meetings, Dr Anjan Shakya, Ambassador of Nepal and Ms. Nurit Koren, Member of Knesset (Parliament of Israel) were present in the meeting among others.
