SA members ask govt to take initiatives to get back encroached Kalapani

Sudurpachim State Assembly (SA) members have drawn the attention of the Sudurpachim SA and the state government to taking initiatives to get back Nepal’s territories including Kalapani encroached by neighbouring India.

In the SA meeting, SA member Bharat Bahadur Khadka demanded that the SA passes a resolution motion for initiatives to take back Nepal’s territories invaded by India, accusing the state government of keeping a mum on the issue of India placing Nepal’s territories Kalapani and Lipulek in its political map.

Other members, Gelbu Singh Bohara, Dilli Raj Panta and Durga Kumari Kami asked the government to initiate in getting back the territories encroached by India and carry out development activities in Kalapani area.

Likewise, Harka Bahadur Kunwar asked compensations and reliefs to the families victimised by an earthquake on November 19, 2019, while Sushila Budhathoki called for adopting preparedness for the possible spread of corona virus, an infection that has affected China killing over 300 people and infecting hundreds other.

Bal Bahadur Sodari also asked compensations to the families, whose houses were swept away by a landslide at Dhakari area in Achham district, and the 40 families in the area at risk of landslides.

Similarly, Archana Gahatraj demanded that the state government addresses the problems facing patients in Doti district created by lack of bloods.

The SA is scheduled to next meet on February 6.
