Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) is starting a diploma-level course on auto-mechanics engineering next year.

PMC mayor Man Bahadur GC announced this while inaugurating the 20th annual general meeting of Gandaki Auto-mechanics Workers Association here on Sunday.

He said the course will help in the production of skilled human resources. Mayor GC also shared that the metropolis will also construct an ‘auto land’ at an appropriate location for this purpose.

"We are going to start the Auto-engineer Diploma’ since future development is possible only with the help of skilled and capable human resources," he said.

President of Auto-mechanics Entrepreneurs Association, Thakur Neupane complained that the local bodies were not extending cooperation to them for smooth running of their business. President of Nepal Automobile Entrepreneurs Federation, Yam Prasad Bhusal said the federation was working to set up auto land in major cities of the country for operating mechanical workshops and trade.
