20 injured in a leopard attack

A leopard has attacked and injured as many as 20 people from Jaisidihi and Ganeshsthan in Panchkhal municipality-6.

The wild beast bounced on two persons, one from Jaisidihi and another from Ganeshsthan, since Sunday. The rampaging leopard attacked Arjun Shrestha, 30, of Jaisidihi today while he was working at paddy field, shared ward chairperson Ramsharan Dulal.

Likewise, the leopard attacked a woman and others at paddy field in the same village this afternoon, he informed. Leopard has caused injury to the people on their back and other bodily organs.

Shrestha was taken to Teku Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment today. The same leopard might be serially attacking on people, Dulal said, adding search for the injured is underway.

Meanwhile, locals killed a leopard this afternoon after the beast attacked and injured more than 20 people. Locals resorted to finish off the beast when it attacked people one after another, Dulal shared.

Local people were disappointed when the leopard started killing goats tied in shed and hut in the surrounding of forest at Bhumlu rural municipality.

Harihar Uprety of Bhumlu rural municipality-7 shared that the leopard had entered into the shed and killed his eight goats on Thursday night.

"We do not even go outside the home due to fear of leopard rampage", Uprety said.
