Lawmakers ask govt to take effective measures against coronavirus

The lawmakers have drawn attention of the government to take precaution measures against novel coronavirus in the country adding that the virus started from China could spread in Nepal too.

In the zero hour of the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting today, the lawmakers asked the government to take complete measures against the coronavirus.

The lawmakers, on the occasion, sought the government response on government preparations against the disease, number of Nepali students in China and other related issues.

Lawmakers Dilendra Prasad Badu, Dibya Mani Rajbhandari, Prakash Snehi Rasaili, Devendraraj Kandel, Pradip Yadav, Bal Krishna Khand and others raised concerns on provision of quarantine for air passengers coming to Nepal from China, isolated site to keep students evacuated from China and other issues.

Similarly, lawmaker Dila Sangraula raised question whether or not the exorbitant fees collected from the students by the medical colleges was returned.

Likewise, lawmaker Dal Bahadur Rana shared his ideas on slow progress on development projects despite six months of the current fiscal year have already elapsed.

Similarly, other lawmakers speaking at the zero hour raised government’s attention on sugarcane farmers’ woes; zero tolerance against corruption; Visit Nepal Year, 2020; Chhaupadhi in the far-west an western belts; environmental issues and excavation of the natural resources from the rivers and Chure region and other issues of the public importance.
