Technical education only means for jobs: Ex- President Yadav

Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday said the coming era is for technical education. Only technical education could increase employment opportunities, he said stressing the need for community schools and colleges to provide quality education.

The former President said this while inaugurating a week-long Shreemadbhagawat Gyanmahayagya on the premises of Changunarayan Secondary School at Changunarayan municipality-1 in Bhaktapur district.

Approximately 85 percent community schools and colleges having more than 80 percent enrollment lack quality education, he claimed.

On the occasion, member of the House of Representatives, Mahesh Basnet pledged his help to develop and make the Changunarayan school as a model school to provide technology education through coordination among the federal, state and local levels.

Bagmati State member Krishna Lal Bhandel pledged Rs 1 million from the Parliamentary Development Fund for the school.

The Mahayagya has been organised to collect Rs 10 million to fund the school to provide technical education, said the school head teacher Dadhiram Gelal.
