Police have arrested a team of criminal gang from the Kathmandu Valley. The Metropolitan Crime Division said that six goons, involved in looting at different places in the Kathmandu Valley were arrested.
Those arrested include Bhim Bahadur Gharti Magar of Dang, Nakur Tamang of Nuwakot, Dawa Tshering Tamang and Tenzing Bahadur Tamang of Rasuwa, Kumar Bahadur Budhathoki of Ramechhap and Sanjit Waiba of Kathmandu.
Organising a press meet on Sunday, the Division shared information that the gang had looted millions of rupees from different people under various pretexts.
Senior Superintendent of Police at the Division, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa, said that the goons had looted Rs 5 million alluring a person of Sindhupalchowk.
Police seized more than Rs 1.8 million, four motorcycles, a gold ring and number of mobile phone sets from them. Police have started further investigations into the case, according to the Division.
