The senior-most member at the HoR Mahantha Thakur had chaired the second session of the HoR meeting today, where he directed the General Secretary of Federal Parliament Secretariat Manohar Prasad Bhattarai to make necessary preparations for the speaker’s election.

Earlier, session chair Thakur read out the resignation letter of deputy speaker Dr Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe in the meeting. According to the election schedule, the filing of nominations to the post of the speaker will begin at 11:00 am and will conclude at 2:00 pm Tuesday.
