‘Collaboration with state government for daughter education and insurance programme’

Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiowada has pledged to collaborate with the state government to implement the girl child education and daughter insurance programme for societal transformation.

In his address to the ‘state coordination council meeting’ organized by State-2 government at Bardibas in Mahottari today, Minister Dr Khatiwada said "The federal government would especially cooperate to and collaborate with the state government on women empowerment initiatives".

Stressing the need to engage girls towards technical education for empowerment, he said social anomalies such as dowry system would come to an end when girls and women were educated. Keeping this in mind, the federal government has also put daughter education programme on its top priority.

Vice-chair of National Planning Commission (NPC) Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel urged the state and local governments to cooperate for meeting national target of ‘prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali’.

He also called the state and local governments to timely formulate plans in line with the directives of National Planning Commission.

Also speaking on the occasion, State-2 chief minister Lalbabu Raut said he was ready to collaborate with local governments towards maintaining good governance. He also stressed the need to work together for the prosperity of the state.
